Chinese Kung-Fu system  Wu-Hsing-I Chuan is a Chinese Kung-Fu class that presents the ancient internal arts of Wu-Hsing, Hsing-I, Tan-Tui, Nei-Kung, Chi-Kung, Shuai Jiao. It is constructed from the sciences of the five animal forms - tiger, monkey, deer, bird, bear. These arts were created at Tien Shan within the 100 schools of thought that existed 2500 years ago. They have been passed down through the generations and have been revived by the Yuan-Fu (origin-founder) of The Wu-Chi Tao School for our modern day. Original Purpose of the Arts Our school not only provides the student with combat skills but also with a system that builds both reflexes and timing as well as promoting the structure and function of both the body and internal organs. The integrating of philosophy with the physical exercises makes provision for the more serious development of mind, body, character and personality. Major emphasis is placed on the development of timing & positioning rather than brute force. The art of Wu-Hsing-I Chuan can be played by anyone whether big or small, strong or weak, young or old. This class is taught within the Wu-Chi Tao School true to the original purpose of the creators of the arts - the development of the whole person, the pursuit of excellence, & understanding of the sciences of life through the arts. Non-fight School We do not participate in MMA touraments or engage in boxing- sparring. We use partner work, pads and equipment to learn how to apply the moves  effectively. We teach you how to hit, but we do not breed in our students an aggresive, fighting spirit; but rather we help you to acheive self-mastery. We are not a Taoist organisation. Wu-Chi Tao is not based on Taoist belief. It is a non-religious, non-spiritualistic school. People from all walks of life with any belief or ideology are welcome to our class. The word Tao means ‘road to’; the road to Wu-Chi via the Dojo or the Si-Fu or Lao Shih. Your Beliefs are Your Own. Your beliefs are part of your personal life and that area of your life is not infringed upon or squashed within the class; on the other hand the class is NOT a forum for you to discuss, propagate or disseminate your own or any other person or groups particular political ideologies or religious view-points. This makes it free and open access for all people; as long as you abide by the school rules. Many Skills & Concepts Taught including: Positioning, timing, speed & power. Fist-hand actions, kicks, drills, forms, throws. Entry, hit, take-down & intensive-care zones. Weaving hands concepts & strategies. Internal aspects of arts.
